News: Three more seasons!

Pros:

• The potential for longer story arcs with the reassurance that they have the time
  
• Plenty of space for character development
  
• They might not try to shove every single character into every single episode and instead give them each more time by pacing things differently
  
• Ten seasons has got to be long enough for canon queer representation
  
• Even if they fuck absolutely everything up, I can live with three more seasons of fix-it fic

Cons:

• Chuck Lorre.

Holy crap, that takes us through season ten? Are all the actors staying put? I have zero hopes for character development and many hopes for excellent guest stars.

Yes, season ten.

From what I've heard everyone's staying; Kaley, Jim, and Johnny are planning to negotiate for higher paychecks as the main trio, and then Kunal and Simon separately. This is mostly conjecture based on this one article from Hollywood Reporter, mind you.

(As an aside, here's Kunal and his wife being adorbs.)

WOW they are almost too adorable to handle. I'd love to see her on the show at some point - wonder if she's ever acted?

She is (was?) a model; I know that doesn't mean anything in and of itself, but she's gotta be comfortable with being in front of cameras, at least.

Crossing my fingers, then. (I like seeing couples work together? Not in a super-invested way, but it always makes me smile with one exception*, where as adorable as the irl relationship is, I think the writers undercut the on-screen stories.)

In that case, it would be bomb diggety for everyone's partners to wind up on the show at some point. At least, I think it would be. Jocelyn Towne's already an actress. If they can't do something with Ryan Sweeting and tennis then they're not being imaginative enough (it would be tres hilaire to see Leonard trying to be more athletic to appeal to Penny and getting lessons from Ryan, IMHO). Todd Spiewak's just flat-out adorable (that's a reason, right?). Unfortunately I think that Kevin Sussman and Ali Young have split up, which is a damn shame because she does amazing music. Mayim's divorced and I know zilch about Melissa's partner, which is good because at this point this comment looks like I do a lot of stalking.

What did Chuck Lorre do? Just curious - I quite like Mom, for example, and he seems heavily involved with that. Seems unfair to toss every bad thing about the show at his feet.

It's pretty much shorthand for 'whoever fucked up this week'. But since he's the one who puts his name on it as executive producer, so it's reasonable to assume that he OKs the dumb shit like homophobia and transphobia.
